Epson Scanner for X-Rays

Posted on Thursday 30 June 2005

There are hundreds of scanners available, how do you choose the right one for your dental practice?

If you just want to scan documents, like EOBs or letters, get the least expensive document scanner; it will work fine.

If you want to scan x-rays you will need a transparency adaptor. These adaptors are designed to be used with 35mm slides and are usually too small to do more than a single PA. However larger adaptors are available. The problem is they often cost into the thousands.

Epson makes a good flatbed scanner, the “4990 photo” that has a large 8”x10”transparency adaptor. And it is priced at $449. Check it out HERE
