Digital Teeth

January 13, 2010

By now most everyone is familiar with digital “stuff” like a digital photo, a digital x-ray or a digital song on an iPod. However all that “stuff” is so 2000s, what is new and even more exciting for the 2010 era is the technology to digitize a solid object. That is to make a highly accurate digital [...]

MobileTek Labs

December 3, 2009

This is an idea  from the NY meeting that I have not seen before. A mobile lab that uses a CEREC unit and comes to your office. Same day single visit service but no investment…. Interesting.
CAD/CAM is the future of dentistry, but the cost and learning curve makes it unrealistic for most practices. Our mobile [...]

Diode Frenectomy

November 17, 2009

A short video demonstrating a labial frenectomy with a diode laser. Notice:  NO bleeding and NO sutures. And from my experience the next day the patient will have essentially NO pain. At most patients report their gum feels like it was “scratched”. IMHO every dentist should have a diode laser.

It is About the People

November 16, 2009

It’s not about the machine, it’s about the people. But sometimes the machine can make all the difference.
It is easy to see technology just as machines and networks but I have always believed the real significance, the real value of technology comes when we use it to improve the human condition. Dr. Tony Romanazzi a [...]

Bluecam still requires the use of [...]

What’s Your Hammer?

November 13, 2009

The excerpt and link below is from Seth Godin. The point is very significant in dentistry. I just spent two days at a Cerec meeting. Fantastic Offer, CAD CAM Hands on…Free

October 30, 2009

I bumped this post back to the top because it is such an amazing opportunity. The Scottsdale Center is worth seeing all by itself and the topic and speakers are well worth the investment. And that’s the best part the investment is being underwrtitten by Cerec; this program is free, Even the hotel is free. [...]

When Impressions go Wrong

October 28, 2009

Consider the lowly impression and the number of times there is a chance for an impression to go wrong. That is for it to distort or in some other way betray us from the moment it is taken until the restoration is ready to deliver.
Each of these materials; the impression materials, the stone, the wax, [...]
