“Saint Apollonia” by Giovanni Battista Salvi. ¬†Apollonia is the patron saint of dentistry. Her feast day Is February 9. This is the second of six Apollonia paintings I will feature in Dental Art before and after February 9. As you can imagine as a saint there are many depictions of her, mostly from previous centuries. You can read her sad tale here. Four previous dental art Apollonia images are here, here, here and here.

Dental art is anything that depicts teeth or dentistry in an interesting or artistic way. If you have any suggestions for future Dental Art pieces please send them to me or give me a link. Thanks.

Previous “Dental Art” images can be found here on Pinterest.
