QR Code

Have you seen these wierd little things showing up in unexpected places? They are called QR codes and they seem to be poised to become the next big thing. The link below is to Wikipedia and the article explains them well.

The idea is that you can take a photo of the QR code with your phone and then an application in the phone will interpret the code. Kind of like a bar code for business cards or…whatever.

QR Codes storing addresses and URLs may appear in magazines, on signs, buses, business cards, or on just about any object about which users might need information. Users with a camera phone equipped with the correct reader application can scan the image of the QR Code to display text, contact information, connect to a wireless network, or open a web page in the phone’s browser. This act of linking from physical world objects is known as a hardlink or physical world hyperlinks.

I’m the community manager for Microsoft Tag #2dbarcode technology. I wanted to reach out to see if you’ve heard about us before? If you haven’t I’d love to chat about our technology and what we bring that is different from Qr codes. Shoot me an email if you’re interested and here’s a link to our showcase to see some of the different implemenations of Tag http://ht.ly/3f7gO

I am using the Microsoft Tag reader on my Blackberry Torch and must say it’s the best Tag reader I use – most likely to deliver results!
I see a lot of potential in QR codes…..tag, you’re it!

Last Friday I went to all my face dental offices and showed them how to create QR codes for their websites…we published and hung in the windows of the clinics, one doc is getting a big one to hang beside his

I am anxious to hear if the traffic to the websites increased…and I am betting the results will be very good.
