Dentrix G3 has some very nice upgrades that make charting and case presentations much better. However it is a resource hog. Below are the system requirements off the Dentrix site. The processor (Intel Pentium® IV 2.4 GHz) is not excessive. However few machines over two years old will have 1GB of RAM.
The other feature that may be an issue is the video requirements: Standard CRT/LCD monitor with a minimum of 1024×768 screen resolution 3D capable DirectX 9 compatible graphics card with 128 MB video memory (needed for advanced 3D Modeling) Moist business machines do have this kind of image processing power.
The general complaint about G2 that it was slow has been fixed in G3. Lab tests at Dentrix indicate that G3 runs at the same speed as Version 11.
