Desktop Computer Replacemet

It is a cost of doing business in the 21st Century. Computers should be replaced every three to four years.  Most dental office will  set up a system where 1/3 to 1/4 forth of the computers are replaced each year. That means you will most likely replace two or three computers before the end of the year. What do you need to budget for this?

For a decent workstation in a dental office you should expect to pay  $799 including a monitor. You probably don’t need the monitor so your actual cost could be less. On the other hand you will need to pay your local IT person to deliver it, set it up, install the software and networking.

As a general cost guide plan on $800 to $900 for each workstation, that is $2,400 to $2,700 if you get three. Start planning and ordering now to take advantage oy possible section 179 year end tax breaks.
