Microsoft launched a family of Surface tablets on Monday that will be the showcase platform for the company’s next-generation Windows 8 operating system,

Looks like Microsoft is not content to let others build a tablet for them to compete with the iPad. In theory having a tablet that runs Windows programs natively uses USB and Flash and has an optional keyboard should be a plus for dental users. I love my iPad but it is really just a wonderful toy to cruise the net and entertain myself. I am still looking for an actual productive use for a tablet in the dental work environment. Maybe these Windows 8 Tablets will fill the void. It is scheduled for release late in July 2012.
