Xybernaut has pioneered the development of wearable computers. They are not practical for use in the dental office yet but it is an intriguing idea. The following comes from the xybernaut site

Health care workers are challenged with multiple point-of-care settings, each focused on specific location-based requirements such as nursing flow in hospitals, mobile patient records in ambulances, elderly assistance in nursing homes, physician office management, electronic prescriptions in the pharmacies, laboratory data entry and viewing, and first responder emergency activity. Patient care-takers are now able to access the right information for the right patient at any location they are required to do so, instead of accessing different terminals from point to point.
