Without Tort Reform, It Isnt Health Care Reform –Its a Plaintiffs Lawyers Protection Act

Another take on health care reform…and a good point, without reforming the broken legal system that imposes all kinds of extra costs and distorts treatment decisions any change is little more than cost shifting. Asking patients, doctors, hospitals and insurance companies to sacrafice but allowing out of control lawyers to keep imposing excessive costs on the system reeks of political gamesmanship.

President Obama wants everyone to sacrifice. Well, not quite everyone.

There is one group that President Obama doesnt mention, one group he doesnt demand sacrifice for the greater good.

President Obama is protecting the plaintiffs lawyers who sue doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies and reap billions in fees from the tort lottery.
