From the Sesame Communications Newsletter: According to recent reports by Neilson/NetRatings, known as the global standard for Internet audience measurement, as of November 2006 over three-fourths of U.S. active Internet users connect via broadband at home. Between May 2005 and May 2006, broadband usage among active web users increased by 15% and “narrowband” (dial-up) usage decreased by 15%. And as of May 2006, broadband usage in the workplace hit 90%.

Rural communities across the country, many of which lack the infrastructure to support broadband, are vigorously pursuing wireless and other Internet systems that will bring broadband to their communities.
