What is the difference between the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW)?

The Internet is a network of networks. It is the physical computers and the wires or relays that connect them. The Internet includes computers, cell phones, satellites and more. It is actual stuff.

The WWW is what you see when you use a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. In other words it is web pages. The WWW is just part (a big part) of the Internet.

The Internet includes e-mail, Instant messaging, FTP as well as the WWW.
