Another Dentist Sues Yelp

A Manhattan cosmetic dentist is suing Yelp over bad reviews, claiming the site lists only defamatory reviews and filters out positive ones.

I have great sympathy for the dentist. As professionals our reputation is our most treasured asset. It is extremely frustrating not to mention professionally devastating to be faced with negative online reviews. Especially if those reviews are misleading or malicious. Online reviews have become incredibly powerful and in the current situation businesses or professionals who have been smeared online have virtually no recourse.

Previous legal actions against Yelp have not been successful. On the other hand I have little or no respect for Yelp and their business practices. For example the dentist claims in his suit that Yelp filters out his positive reviews, keeps the few negative ones at the top and directs patients to other dentists who are Yelp advertisers.

Hey! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice
from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your
own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking
about creating my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any points or suggestions? With thanks

There are a number of blogging services available. The most popular and the one I use is WordPress. If you get a Worpress account they have lots and lots of online training resources.
