I am in awe of Facebook. The power of half a billion souls connected through the Internet is…well that is the problem we don’t really know what it is. And we don’t really know how to take advantage of it we just know some people have. Lots to learn. The following connects to some actual research on the subject.

While much of finding what works for your business on social media sites is a process of trial and error, recent stats from e-mail marketing firm ExactTarget which recently acquired social CRM platform CoTweet shed some light on how the Facebook population uses the site, and specifically, how it interacts with brands

I think it is critical for dentists to understand this technology… and how it will help them connect. In a LinkedIn Group that I belong to, Dentists Network, there are some folks that are still clearly uncomfortable with social media for dentists. They worry about the negative comments that might appear on sites like Yelp. Problem is, those comments are happening with or without the dentist being aware of them and interacting with them. It is REALLY important to get in the social media game. The younger generations are using social media to communicate at a much higher rate than email or other communication methods. That is where your patients are, That is where you need to be as a dentist.
