No Digital Radiography Before Its Time

by Larry Emmott on April 16, 2009

in Radiography

Digital radiography should not be the first high tech system you bring into the office. It should not be a stand alone system. It ought to be added to an established management system as part of the electronic record.

At a minimum the office needs to be using a complete integrated practice management system (for example Dentrix, Practice Works or Eaglesoft). Beyond the minimum the practice should  use the computer for more than just creating statements and insurance forms. Each patient should have an electronic record.

Digital radiography should never be the primary technology system in the office. That should always be the Practice Management System. The radiography application should be subordinate to the Practice Management System and linked to it through a “bridge”.
