What could be better than an easy to use hand held x-ray device that both patients and staff love to use? How about the same device with a beam collimator that reduces exposure by 58%?
Nomad is introducing a rectangular collimator at the Chicago Midwinter meeting. The collimator modifies the x-ray beam from a 6cm circle to a 3x4cm rectangle the shape and size of a #2 receptor. This is a 58% reduction in the dose area.
Collimators cut down on dosage and scatter radiation which improves safety for patients as well as operators and can improve diagnostics by focusing the beam.
