Facebook, Privacy…Oxymoron? “A bunch of mistakes.”

This link is to Mashable a great source for all things social. I do not believe we have seen the last of “privacy” issues and the Internet. In fact this will IMHO be an ongoing topic that reaches far past Facebook. For example EDR (electronic dental records) and more significantly the associated EMR (electronic medical record)  when properly set up and implemented will be an incredible benefit to medical/dental professionals and the public we serve. On the other hand fears of data leaks, loss of privacy and identity theft are serious issues which have yet to be addressed in an adequate fashion.

Hopefully the issues raised with Facebook and other social media will help guide us to acceptable systems we can use for more serious online activities such as medical records, online diagnosis and all the rest.

In the meantime…remember…what happens in Vegas; stays on Facebook.
