FromĀ  WSJ:

A massive data breach at Yahoo in 2013 was far more extensive than previously disclosed, affecting all of its 3 billion user accounts

This is disturbing.

These massive high visibility breaches can not help but damage people’s trust in technology and the Internet. True EHRs stored in the cloud and available as needed are doomed unless better security can be developed.

BTW if the feds treated Yahoo like they do healthcare facilities subject to HIPAA, Yahoo could be fined several hundred dollars per record. Three billion x $200 = a six hundred billion dollar fine. Verizon bought Yahoo last year for less than 5 billion, before the full extent of the breach was known.
