“First visit to the dentist” This painting is by English Aesthetic Movement painter Edward Robert Hughes. It was painted around 1866. I decided another older more classical dental art image was appropriate before year end. This picture is not nearly as brutal as many older paintings such as this. Never the less it was created before novacaine was available and the dentist hiding the forceps behind his back is undoubtedly sinister.
Dental art is anything that depicts teeth or dentistry in an interesting or artistic way. If you have any suggestions for future Dental Art pieces please send them to me or give me a link. Thanks.
