IBM lab on a chip can sort 20 nanometer nanoparticles such as DNA, viruses and exos

From Next Big Future:

IBM scientists have developed a new lab-on-a-chip technology that can, for the first time, separate biological particles at the nanoscale and could help enable physicians to detect diseases such as cancer before symptoms appear.

Another step toward the Tricorder.

What is even more exciting is the combination of new sensing devices such as lab on a chip with big data AI to do the diagnosis, faster more accurately and much less expensively than current systems. These types of technology have a much better chance of controlling health care costs than political measure.
