Full Mouth PAs are Obsolete

The consensus of the dentists at the Kodak thought leaders meeting was that with a good pano (that probably means a digital pano) and bite wings that a full mouth series is not indicated. The dentists were practicing general dentists, specialists and radiologists.

There is nothing that could be seen on a FM series that wouldn’t show on the pano and BW so why expose the pt to the excess radiation and discomfort?

If the pano indicates a problem then take selected PAs of those areas.
