Technology Costs Too Much

One of the primary reasons dentists cite for not using advanced technology is that it costs too much. On the other hand, one of the primary benefits dentists cite when they do use advanced technology is cost savings.

Obviously there’s a gap here between perception and reality. Which is true?

  • ¬†Does technology cost too much?
  • Or, does technology save money?

The answer to both questions is, “Yes.” Technology purchased as part of a plan and a budget can have an immediate and substantial return on investment (ROI). Technology purchased with no plan and then poorly implemented is money wasted.

Many dentists do not get the ROI they should from technology because they continue to run the office the same way with the same people as they did before adding high tech systems. Digital workflow using e-services will allow you to do more with fewer people.
