So far dentists have avoided direct involvement in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) known commonly as Obamacare. For the most part dental care is not included in mandated coverage and the vast majority of dentists have less than fifty employees so as business people they are exempt from the employer mandate.
This could easily change in the future and dentists are likely to be caught up in the boondoggle the feds have created with mandated electronic medical records.
On the other hand even though they have avoided business and professional involvement dentists, like everyone else, will be impacted personally. Many have already experienced increased costs and reduced access to care.
…keeping three promises many of them made to voters during the last election: Keep your job; keep your health insurance; and keep your doctor.
