Stupid Facebook Page

I have tried to see Facebook as the powerful dental practice marketing tool some have claimed it to be. I am in awe of the sheer numbers of Facebook users and its incredible growth. However I have been uncomfortable jumping on the “Facebook is awesome” bandwagon as I was unsure if is actually working to help grow dental practices.

Now a new study linked below says Facebook isn’t really all that effective as a marketing tool. In fact according to the article certain aspects of Facebook can actually harm a products reputation with consumers.

Interestingly a number of commenters disagree strongly and say that Facebook has been great for business.

A new study by Forrester Research found that maintaining a Facebook presence is less effective at drumming up business than plain old email newsletters or search ads. Companies interviewed for the study “received little benefits from Facebook
