From Yahoo News:
Insurance companies are still trying to sort out cases of so-called health insurance orphans, customers for whom the government has a record that they enrolled, but the insurer does not.
It is as if the government unveiled a massive project like the Hoover Dam and it immediately sprung thousands of leaks and threatened to collapse.
On the one hand as a cheerleader for technology in dentistry and healthcare I am disturbed by the ongoing catastrophic failure of healthcare.gov. On the other hand I believe government is ill equipped to manage any industry including healthcare. Sadly the failures were predictable and reinforce my belief that market driven, local solutions are far more effective than centralized command and control.
