I think it is critical for dentists to understand this technology… and how it will help them connect. In a LinkedIn Group that I belong to, Dentists Network, there are some folks that are still clearly uncomfortable with social media for dentists. They worry about the negative comments that might appear on sites like Yelp. Problem is, those comments are happening with or without the dentist being aware of them and interacting with them. It is REALLY important to get in the social media game. The younger generations are using social media to communicate at a much higher rate than email or other communication methods. That is where your patients are, That is where you need to be as a dentist.
