Good Enough

in Management

Again Seth Godin has some provocative items on his blog. The article linked below addresses the ongoing discussion of good enough vs. great. There is not a direct technology connection but there is a very strong connection to dental practice management in general.

What do your patients want? Do they want a consistent experience that meets expectations or do they want an over the top “spa” experience?

The answer is that different people will be looking for different experiences and you can succeed by offering one or the other, but you can’t do both.

… you can’t do both at the same time. That customer who came for the on-spec service isn’t going to be happy with the over the top hoopla. And so you try to compromise and do both, to please everyone. Sorry, but you can’t.
