…In response to the survey results, the ADA developed a checklist of tips to help practices prevent employee theft. Recommendations include downloading credit card charges onto accounting software, cross-training employees for multiple duties and hiring a practice software specialist to ensure security controls.

Click through to the check list. Almost half the items are technology related, like setting up security systems and monitoring access. Sadly the features that make technology so helpful to the practice also make it easy for bad actors to abuse. However we can also use technology to track and prevent theft.
