Yelp Successfully Sued in Small Claims Court

According to the Wall Street Journal, a bankruptcy lawyer took Yelp to small claims court in San Diego and won a judgement of $2700.

….the judge describing Yelp’s advertising contract as “the modern-day version of the mafia going to stores and saying, “You wanna not be bothered?”

The link is to a blog which quotes the Wall Street Journal. The comments are worth a click. The law suit has to do with whether or not Yelp delivered on a contract. The underlying theme from the judge’s remarks and the blog comments  is that Yelp hides good reviews for non-paying businesses and promotes them for businesses that pay the monthly fee.
