DEXshield: I saw this at the Chicago Midwinter.
When used during the dental radiologic procedure, it aligns the X-ray beam with the examination site and provides an attenuating barrier to protect the patient from unnecessary radiation exposure.
DEXshield helps optimize your clinical workflow by reducing the number of accessories needed. DEXIS has created DEXshield as a true all-in-one positioning ring which allows you to capture both periapical and bitewing radiographs.

I like the idea of rectangular colllimation, reduced radiation exposure and better detail. The DEXshield is designed to work just with Dexis and suffers from a flaw that has plagued rectangular shields in the past. It is very easy to miss the exact alignment resulting in a useless image. Another more sophisticated and reliable option is the TruAlign.
