NOMAD Pro 2 Safety

I am a huge fan of the hand held X-Ray machine Nomad. I can’t imagine why any dentist building or remodeling an office would use anything else.

OK – I can imagine one reason, it just does not seem safe to be in the room while taking radiographs. Of course the people at Nomad are concerned about safety as well and they have scads of research on the subject. In fact the design of the Nomad is such that radiation exposure for people using Nomad is actually lower than with conventional systems. See the chart below.

NOMAD Pro 2 is designed with safety as the number one priority. The external backscatter shield and internal radiation shielding are specially designed to protect the operator from radiation exposure. In fact, the exposure from using NOMAD Pro 2 is less than one percent of allowed occupational doses.
