Another report indicating that healthcare is under cyber attack. The article includes this factoid:

The attacks can get expensive: According to estimates Alleyne cited during the panel, a data breach can cost health-care providers more than $400 per patient.

Do the math. If you have 3500 patient records. That is records stored in the computer not just active patients. And there is a breach. For example a burgler steals your computer. Then your costs will be around $400 x 3500 = $1,400,000. For most dentists that means bankruptcy and ruin.
