This sounds waaay too familiar.

When that familiar upgrade popup appears on your screen, your initial response is probably one of trepidation: Will the new version slow down my computer? Will it install bloatware? Will it be incompatible with the apps already on my PC?
After much internal deliberation, you succumb to the pressure and accept the update with fingers crossed. At first things seem okay; your screen isn’t freezing up, and your data doesn’t get lost. But then you restart your computer, igniting a catastrophic chain reaction: There’s an unusual black bar in your browser. Your favorite features are nowhere to be seen. And the program is buggier than ever. Oh crap.
