Common “Paperless” Mistake
A common mistake dental offices make regarding digital records is to gather digital information, such as photographs, but store it in separate dental software that is not part of the patient’s digital record. To be most effective the digital information must be all part of the same record using either a fully integrated system or linking each system using computer bridges.
For more help with paperless records and using the Internet join us at Technology on the Rocks.
Thanks Mark

Sedona in the Fall?
I am considering a “Technology on the Rocks” program for the fall. Possibly Oct 30 – Nov 1.
Pride Institute in Sedona
I will be visiting with some of my favorite people in one of my favorite places.
The Pride Institute is holding its annual alumni meeting at the fabulous Enchantment Resort in Sedona AZ. Sept 20-22.I hope to do a bit of mountain bike riding after the morning sessions. Sedona is where I hold the annual Technology on the Rocks meeting in late May.
Sedona and the Internet
The Internet has become the primary topic at my meetings and on this blog. We had a wonderful three days last week in Sedona for Technology on the Rocks. Biking, enjoying the outdoors and the unique rugged beauty of the red rock spires of Sedona.
I had originally planned one day (4 hours) of the presentations to be on the Internet. However as we got into all the details of web pages, Google, user reviews, e-services and of course the hot and hip topic of the day, social media the time stretched to a day and a half.
In the early days of the blog (about eight years ago) the primary topics here and in my talks were software, digital cameras, hardware purchase and placement and digital radiography. Those topics are still important but the interest has definitely shifted toward the Internet.
When you think about it that is a natural shift. As we become adept at gathering digital information the next logical step is to use it effectively. Back in 1998 (last century) I wrote the following:
The Internet will have a more profound effect on the world we live in than any technological advance of the last century…It will affect our lives in ways we cannot yet even imagine.
Still true.
